AIMEE WHITTAKER BIOGRAPHY

Aimee Whittaker is the founder of Dance + Australia which is dedicated to strengthening the way the Dance Industry connects and grows.

 

Her mentorship program ‘Design Your Career’ continues to support performing artists who are beginning their career in the entertainment industry.

 

As the owner of Dance + Media, Aimee is proud to lead a team of dancers who share a passion for capturing dance on film. The business thrives on supporting Dance Studios, businesses and independent dancers by creating high quality content produced by a friendly and knowledgeable team.

 

Early in her career, Aimee was a Choreography Assistant to Sarah Boulter on the hit TV show ‘So You Think You Can Dance’ Australia and UK. She also performed in ‘My Mutation’ choreographed by Kelley Abbey as well as for; Sydney Comedy Festival, Jean Paul Gaultier, Sony and P&O Cruises.

 

Aimee was a company member of Contemporary company ‘You Move’ directed by Kay Armstrong, performing works by Australian Contemporary choreographers including Anton. Aimee was a company member of Dance and Comedy group ‘Phly Crew’ for over a decade. Aimee was a featured performer in Phly Crew’s theatre shows and earnt a place in the International finals of ‘World of Dance’ in LA and the Grand Final of ‘Australia’s Got Talent’.

 

Aimee is a very passionate teacher who is dedicated to not only teaching the next generation of teachers and performers holding a RAD RTS, Advanced Diploma of Dance, Diploma in Dance Teaching and Management, TAE qualification and Pilates instructor certificates.

 

Aimee continues to explore different opportunities to grow as a valuable member of the dance industry.
